Flowering stems rise 10-18 in. above a clump of long-petioled, basal leaves. The showy foliage is broad and heart-shaped with numerous lobes. The small inflorescence is narrow to loose and made up of tiny, greenish-yellow flowers.
Littleleaf Alumroot is in the saxifrage family (family Saxifragaceae), members of which are usually herbs with small flowers. There are about 30 genera and 580 species, which occur mainly in cooler regions of the Northern Hemisphere.
