Senecio warnockii occurs in sandy gypseous sites (Henrickson & Johnston, in prep.). Specimens from Texas have been taken from stabilized to bare ridges within a xeric gypsum flat west of the Guadalupe Mountains (NatureServe Explorer).

Size Notes: Up to about 16 inches tall.
Fruit: Fruit is a cypsela (pl. cypselae). Though technically incorrect, the fruit is often referred to as an achene.

Bloom Notes: Usually found flowering late summer - fall. May also flower in the spring in wet years.
