Size Notes: 1-4 feet in height.
Leaf: Leaves imparipinnate to pinnate-ternate.
Flower: Flowers urceolate; sepals pinkish-purple, reddish or pinkish abaxially, sepals white or greenish adaxially.
Fruit: Achenes arranged in globose heads with curvate pappi bearing golden (when mature), plumose trichomes. Fruit mature Jun-Oct.

Distribution

USA: GA , TN
Native Distribution: In the Ocoee River Gorge and near the Hiwassee River in southeastern TN and in Murray County in northern GA.
Native Habitat: Relatively dry talus slopes, cliff ledges, calcareous-phyllite woodland and bluffs.
