As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: Calflora offers resources for an informed, timely approach to biodiversity protection. Calflora provides data for analyzing species distributions, modeling spread of invasive species, and identifying the consequences of habitat loss. Calflora also provides a mechanism for citizens to participate directly in building the information resources they need, and gives all users an opportunity to learn about the beauty and diversity of native plant life in California.
