As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: The Coastal Federation focues on protecting and restoring the coast of North Carolina through education, advocacy, and habitat preservation and restoration. The Federation hosts an annual Native Plant Festival in April as part of its education program.

Description: Since 1982 the North Carolina Coastal Federation has worked with thousands of people to bring about better management of coastal resources. We’re the state's only non-profit organization focused on protecting and restoring the coast of North Carolina through education, advocacy, and habitat preservation and restoration. The Coastal Federation works up and down the state’s coast, serving all 20 coastal counties. We have fully-staffed regional offices in Manteo, Ocean and Wilmington with active restoration, education and advocacy programs in each office.
