As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Description: Travis Audubon Society's vision is to inspire conservation through birding, and its mission is to promote the enjoyment, understanding, and preservation of birds, other wildlife, and their habitats in Central Texas. Travis Audubon was founded in 1952 and now has some 2,100 members. A non-profit organization, Travis Audubon owns and manages the 690-acre Baker Sanctuary in northwest Austin as Golden-cheeked Warbler habitat. We offer birding and wildlife education classes and our membership meetings bring in expert speakers on nature and wildlife conservation topics.
