As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Native Plant Focus: The Jepson Herbarium focuses on plants found in and around California, native and non-native. Studying and tracking the distribution of these species as well as further understanding the phylogenetic relationships among natives and related non-natives is part of our mission.

Description: The Jepson Herbarium is one of two herbaria on the UC Berkeley campus used for scientific research and reference collection. The Jepson collection focuses on the California Flora and a non-profit organization, Friends of the Jepson Herbarium, offers outreach programs in the form of weekend workshops on botanical and ecological subjects throughout California and adjacent states.
