As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Description: The mission of the Valley Proud Environmental Council, a 501(c)3 non-profit Corporation, is to preserve the natural beauty and environment of the Lower Rio Grand Valley of Texas and Mexico by forging partnerships between grassroots organizations and the public and private sectors to improve the quality of life, to enhance economic development and tourism, and to conserve public and natural resources through education and public awareness activities, including those that encourage reforestation, proper waste management and responsible behavior by all those who live and visit here.
