As a service to the public, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center collects information on native plant societies, conservation groups, governmental agencies, botanical gardens, arboreta, and other plant-related organizations throughout North America. Description: The California Natural Diversity Database (CNDDB) is a member of NatureServe, the nationwide network of natural heritage programs. Natural heritage programs provide natural history and location information on rare, threatened, endangered, and special status species and natural communities to the public, other agencies, and conservation organizations. These data help drive conservation decisions, aid in better siting of development projects, provide baseline data helpful in recovering endangered species and for research projects.
