Often mistaken for Queen Annes lace (Daucus carota), Wild carrot blooms in flat clusters; when flowers pass, pedicels turn upward into a birds nest; when seeds ripe, spreads open again facilitating adhesion to passing animals.

Queen Annes lace has a deep purple central flower.
