Located adjacent to the Little House in the southwest corner of the main courtyard, the Little House Garden is designed for outdoor exploration and young children.

The gardens in this area feature a cozy patch of buffalo grass ideal for game playing and storytelling. The Buffalo grass is rimmed by a raised garden featuring a variety of grasses, flowering plants like Big Red Sage, Texas Star, and Pink Evening Primrose and shade-providing native trees like Cedar Elm and Kidneywood.

The Little House Courtyard is an open air, largely shaded area that provides a pleasant space for supervised play and exploration. Courtyard plants help children learn about shapes, smells, textures and colors. The Courtyard also features a wikiup (a framed hut used by nomadic Native Americans), a shaded arbor, tree stump stools and large pots in which children can dig for plastic insects and lizards.
