The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Library collects and organizes information to support the programs of the Wildflower Center.
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center's Library assembles and disseminates information that will encourage the cultivation, conservation, and preservation of wildflowers and other native flora throughout North America.
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Library was established in 1982. At that time, materials were acquired by donation and purchase to primarily serve the staff of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. As resources improved, there was a continuous expansion of the core collection at both current and retrospective levels. When the Library moved to the current site, the collection was expanded to support new electives and concentrations to facilitate scholarly research of native plants, providing access to staff and public alike.
The Library is a non-lending research library, open by appointment only. Call our receptionist at (512) 232-0100 to make an appointment.
