Volunteer Tom Hallowell from Houston helps collect seeds of pearly globe amaranth at the base of Mount Livermore in The Nature Conservancy’s Davis Mountains Preserve. The master naturalist is one of 100-plus volunteers who help the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center by collecting or preparing seeds from native Texas plants for long-term storage as part of the international Millennium Seed Bank Project.
