The Visitors Gallery at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center overlooks a meadow filled with Texas bluebonnets and other wildflowers during the spring and summer. The San Antonio Tower (at right) also can be climbed to view the center’s 12 acres of cultivated gardens and meadows. The Visitors Gallery is constructed of white limestone favored by German settlers in Texas, and the Tower of sandstone used in the state’s Spanish missions.
