We design and manage our gardens to teach, inspire and please and to promote the use of native plants. Our gardens show how Texas native plants may be used in many landscapes and garden styles to bridge the gap between people and the natural world. On our 279 acres, we feature about 650 species of Texas native plants with a focus on the Central Texas Hill Country.
Don't miss the Courtyard, the Hill Country Stream and Woodland Garden, the Theme Gardens, the Home Owner Inspiration Gardens, the Butterly Garden and Insectary, the ponds and water features.
Our elegant auditorium is perfect for large group presentations and has hosted internationally known scientists, authors, photographers, horticulturists, and story-tellers. Its 232 padded seats, all with flip-top desks, are tiered for maximum visibility and comfort. Entrances located in all corners allow easy access to many of our natural areas, (including the tranquil Wetland Pond just outside the entrance), while the ample foyer is an ideal setting for registration and breaks. State of the art equipment consisting of slide projectors, CD and tape players, and top quality sound equipment can be commanded from the Directors Booth or the customized podium.
Overall, the warm but professional atmosphere fostered by the Wildflower Center's Auditorium facilitates both learning and communication. In addition to housing presentations hosted by the Wildflower Center, the Auditorium is available for outside events and it is located near two classrooms which can be rented for break-out rooms, luncheons, and smaller meetings.
