Abstract
Several hypotheses about fungal rot and antifungal defense were tested for species with fruits dispersed by vertebrates. Fungal infection decreased feeding rates relative to the fungal toxicity. Toxic fungi were more strongly inhibited by secondary compounds in pulp than non-toxic fungi.Suggested Citation
