Abstract
Studies the effects of introducing fire to a long unburned oak scrub in the Lake Wales scrub. The survival of 12 endemic plants was tracked and the effects of fire on the composition and structure of the community was measured. Eight of the 12 endemics resprouted and four endemics were killed by fire. Most increases in herb abundance were due to seedling recruitment rather than resprouting.Suggested Citation
