Abstract

Utilizes landscape ecosystem classification to identify fuel complex in the southern Appalachians. Ground cover of Rhododendron minus and Vaccinium spp. were discriminating fuel characteristics of xeric, intermediate, submesic, and mesic site units. Fuel complexes can help forest managers who are reintroducing fire into this region.
