Abstract
Examines the influence of phenotypic plasticity versus genetic variability in explaining differences in flowering phenology of two grasses. Panicum virgatum was chosen as an example of outbreeding species and compared with the inbreeding Sporobolus cryptandrus. Panicum virgatum had greater levels of plasticity than S. cryptandrus when grown in a common garden environment.Suggested Citation
