Abstract
Assesses the germination and potential dormancy of Dalea pinnata. Most seeds exhibited physical dormancy, caused by water-impermeable seed coats. Scarifying the seeds followed by incubation at a constant temperature resulted in high germination. Mechanical scarification resulted in higher germination than acid scarification. Seeds germinated equally well in light and darkness. The article provides recommendations for restoration practitioners and seed producers.Suggested Citation
