Habitat:
Bottom of hill at edge of Evergreen Sumac thicket w/E facing exposure. Soil stoney and rocky w/very little humus. Very dry and shallow soil. Location extremely hot in summer.
Description:
Annual; 1.3 m high; multiple stem from coarse root stock; multiple flowering branches arising in axils of leaves. Leaves alternate, petiolate, lanceolate to ovate, 10 x 4 cm. Flower yellow, 4 cm in dia, 23 in bloom when collected.
