Habitat: In understory of Celtis & Ulmus, in dry alkaline soil.

Description: Shrub, much branched, to 3 m tall. Leaves alternate, some fascicled on spur shoots; entire, obovate, rounded or apiculate at apex, cuneate to a short-petioled basally, to 30 mm long, some nearly as broad, buffy-green. Flowers solitary, or seemingly fascicled; petals absent.
