Habitat: In thick understory of Celtis & Ulmus. Heavy shade.

Description: Much branched tree, 4 m tall; thorns to 12 mm long, recurved, acicular, replacing some leaves, brown. Leaves fascicled, mostly more than 5 cm long, elliptic to oblanceolate, dark-green above, lighter beneath. Lower leaf surface thinly covered w/entangled, grayish hairs.
