Isolated colony of four plants. Adventitious. Moist, alkaline soil.
Description:
Erect, much branched perennial to 6 dm tall from coarse rhizome. Sems/petioles/mid-veins of leaves w/many acicular, yellow spines to 9 mm long. Leaves: petioles to 3 cm, ovate-elliptic,to 8 cm long, rounded to cuneate at base, w/several shallow lobes on each side, alternate. Infloresence a raciform cluster of pale-violet to white flowers 2-3 cm dia.
