Latitude: 0.000000

Habitat: Level, alkaline soil. Half-day shade. Among Poaceae.

Description: Shrub w/stiff, sprading, 4-angled branches, to 1.3 m tall. Branches w/recurved prickles. Leaves opposite, petioled, dentate, ovate to deltoid, acute at apex, rounded to truncate at base, to 25 x 35 mm, w/4 mm petiole, hirsute, particularly at nodes & leaf veins. Infloresence a terminal spike. Flowers opening yellow, ageing to red.
