Habitat: On dry roadsides and hillsides.

Description: Perennial 50-80 cm tall in clumps. Leaves, stems and spikelets hairless with a whitish, waxy coating. Primary infloresence branches rebranched (panicle); glumes small, reduced floret below first glume large. Infloresence contracted, short.
