Habitat: Plentiful on rocky, limestone soil. In sun and shade.

Description: Perennial to 1 m tall from a compact woody base. Infloresence dense with leafy bracts. Involucre reddish, consisting of about 20 bracts; pappus of about 30 scabrous bristles.
