Habitat: Full sun. Damp (occasionally inundated), alkaline, alluvial soil.

Description: Erect, 1.3 m tall, tufted perennial grass, branching in upper portion. Blades very long, about 6 mm wide. Infloresence dense, feathery. Racemes paired, to 3 cm, about equal spathe.
