Location: Friedrich Wilderness Park. Main Loop up from brick path, E side.
Habitat: Semi-shade, rocky soil, but rich; with Live Oaks, Elbow-Bush, Fragrant Sumac.
Description: Tall evergreen shrub to small tree. Upper leaves leathery, dark green; underside somewhat fuzzy. Flowers insignificant--mainly maroon stigma is observed; fruit 6 mm, round, two-celled; dark purple/black.
