In alkaline mud and standing water. Full sun. Dense colony. Little else growing there.
Description:
Ascending perennial from fibrous roots, rooting at nodes, to 45 cm tall. Most fork in upper third, some lower or not at all. Leaves sessile, lanceolate, to 1 x 6 cm, glabrous. Corolla white, tubular, flaring to 4 salverform lobes. Fruit leathery, 6-ribbed, crowned by 2 prominent calyx teeth.
