Location: East of the path at south end of the horse pens--Oakwell Farms.
Latitude: 0.000000
Habitat: Some shade; nominal moisture; deep, alkaline, alluvial soil. Many, but scattered.
Description: Sprawling shrub to 2 m high/wide. Stalks square, lightly armed with minute, recurved prickles. Leaves opposite, ovate, acute apically, truncate basally, 5 x 7 cm, heavily dentate, petioled. Peduncles to 10+ cm, axillary, bracteate. Corollas clustered in heads 2 cm in dia, tubular, opening yellow, maturing to orange, then red. Fruit resembles a black drupe.
