Habitat: Nearly level, vacant, undisturbed land. Thin, rocky soil. A few Quercus and Diospyros trees.
Description: Perennial, culms basally decumbent, quickly ascending to 70-80 cm. Peduncles 40 cm. Spikes 15 cm long, nodding. Spikelet 3-5 flowered. Lemmas 8 mm long w/awns to 4 cm.
