Habitat: Heavy shade; above average moisture; alkaline, alluvial soil.

Description: Thin stalked, clamboring, twining, herbaceous vine. Leaves alternate, hastate-ovate, to 25 mm wide and long. Petioles to 3 cm. Infloresence single from axils. Peduncle longer than associated pedicels. Corollas purple with swollen, whitish, lined throat.
