Habitat: Varying conditions, but uniformly under Juniperus ashei.

Description: To 4 m tall, spreading branches with some touching the ground. Leaves alternate, 4 cm long, with 5-9 leaflets on stiff stems. Upper surface is dark green and shiney. Small, white, 5-petaled flowers in clusters, 4-6 cm long at end of stout branches.
