Habitat: Plentiful on open, dry, rocky flats.
Description: Herbaceous, prostrate annual. Leaves alternate, fleshy, numerous. Flowers complete, villous, terminal. Involucre of 6-10 leaves. Ovary inferior, circumsissle. Petals rosy red to purple, stamens numerous. Calyx, corolla and stamens fall with the top of capsule. Seed numerous, small, black (.3 mm dia.)
