Habitat:
Alluvial floodplain, often inundated.
Description:
Erect annual, 60+ cm tall, from stout taproot, branched above. Stalk white-striped. Leaves alternate, long-petioled. Blades ovate, acute both ends, medium-green above, lighter beneath w/prominent veins (some pubescence on these). Monoecious in dense terminal/axillary spikes to 20+ cm long x 10 mm thick.
