Habitat: Full sun at bottom of west facing hill in heavy rock and stone with little humus.

Description: Plants perennial; glumes without glandular pits in the keels; spikelets lateral, mostly 1-6 mm or more long; second glume and lemmas about 1.4-2.2 mm long; stems 50-90 cm tall; sheaths hairless except for tufts in throat.
