Location: NE of low-water crossing of Salado Creek on road from Main Base of Ft Sam Houston to Pershing Firing Range, San Antonio.

Habitat: Full sun; alluvial soil, occasionally flooded.

Description: Rhizomatous perennial, 1 m tall, w/many stems, erect, microscopically pubescent througout. Leaves lanceolate, about 5 cm long/wide, marginally w/5-10 salient teeth on either side. Head bearing portion dense, one-sided, w/many secund branchlets. Heads small, 3-4 mm high.
