QUESTION:

How are bluebonnets used by wildlife?

ANSWER:

Bluebonnets are primarily used by insects. Bees consume nectar from the flowers and catterpillars of some species of butterflies rely on the plants for food.

Deer and other grazing mammals usually will not eat bluebonnets.
