Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?

A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.

QUESTION:

I would like to know what websites you would recommend for information about plants native to Virginia. Glad to have found Mr. Smarty Plants, it will be tops on my Favorites list. Thanks for your time.

Why ours, of course. Visit the Recommended Species section of the Native Plant Information Network and select Virginia from the map. Once you are in the Virginia recommended species list, you can narrow your search by plant characteristics or growing conditions.
