Vegetation Surveys

The Wildflower Center partners with the National Park Service (NPS) to help develop vegetation maps in national parks in Texas as part of the Service's National Inventory & Monitoring Program. These vegetations maps lay the foundation for describing plant communities within the parks and help parks develop management plans. Over the past three years, Center botanists have performed surveys at Padre Island National Seashore, Big Bend National Park, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, The Big Thicket, Lake Amistad National Recreation Area and the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River.
